SAIF Ali Khan reluctant to work with Kareena Kapoor wife

Saif-Kareena not to work together in filmsKareena-saif did not work together in the movies

Who has just married less than three months ago, one can think that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor should be aligned for all films. However, rumor has it that the actor does not want to work in the same films, his wife.

Time of the report of India, the two actors have decided to stay away from their professional lives. The report also read that Khan had led the way in which the scenes that are supposed to represent, a sense of playfulness, eventually turn dull.

That being said, no one can really blame Khan after the failure of a large number of their films together as "Billy" (2008), "Kurban" (2009) and, more recently, "Agent Vinod" (2012) do not do well. No doubt Kapoor and Khan are two remarkable actors full, but it looks like they made a good choice with this decision.

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) has confirmed that it will not be holding this year’s ceremony in Vancouver after it rejected a bid from the British Columbia government.

The need for the clarification was necessary following thousands of fans inquiring about the IIFA celebrations following rumors of a few copycat efforts being attempted in international markets.

Recently, IIFA received a copious number of emails and inquiries from fans in Canada and around the world for tickets to the Awards. But Wizcraft International, the organisers of the extravaganza, confirmed that the city is out of the running for June 2013. The bidding process for the Awards is currently on with a number of countries from the Middle East, South America, Europe and Africa vying for the biggest extravaganza of Indian Cinema to come to their city.

In 2011, IIFA successfully forayed into North America, marking its premiere in Canada, in the city of Toronto. There has since been keen interest from the country to play host once more in 2013, with Christy Clark, the Premier of British Columbia formally extending an invitation to Wizcraft International Entertainment, the initiators of the unique IIFA Celebrations, to hold its 14th edition in Vancouver.

Embarking on its 14th year, Sabbas Joseph, Director, IIFA & Wizcraft International said, “We are truly excited about the bids we have received from various countries. The decision is subject to many contributing factors that are required of a host destination in terms of support-initiatives for Hindi cinema production, funding and distribution; event-funding, support, facilitation, and infrastructure. We are committed to the film Industry and hosting an IIFA in any destination must meet the larger interests of Indian Cinema and a spectacular-staging of the annual celebration.”

Incidentally, it was The Times Of India who announced that their Film Awards will be taking place in Vancouver in April.

IIFA 2013 takes place in June this year with dates and venue to be confirmed shortly.

With the success of his debut film ‘Vicky Donor’ (2012), actor Ayushmann Khurrana has expressed his desire to play more realistic roles, rather than the typical heroic roles, and it looks like that’s exactly what’s happening.

Having impressed many filmmakers with his debut performance, Khurranna has a number of roles already lined up, such as his upcoming role playing a ‘nautanki walla’ in Rohan Sippy’s ‘Nautanki Sala’, One India Entertainment report the actor explaining “The best part is all the roles that I am playing are real or close to reality. I have done theatre so I could relate to the character in ‘Nautanki Saala’.”

Also signed opposite Sonam Kapoor in a Yash Raj Films production, Khurrana’s other release written by ‘Ishaqzaade’ (2012) writer Habib Faisal, will see him playing a man struggling through a recession, “It is a love story in the times of recession and I play a guy who is hit by recession. It is a Habib Faisal kind of film, very real.”

From TV to the big screen, Khurrana sure has done well for himself, where he goes onto say, “Things have changed for me as an actor. We are living in an era where transition from TV to films is easy. I have made it quite successfully. I was around for four years, anchoring shows, taking interviews, watching the industry as an outsider. It is a nice shift, it is ironical.”

First things was the back wheels were too close together so I had to walk a pretty good distance from the stroller with my arms extended out in front of you to avoid my feet from hitting the wheels.

Second the hadle was too short. I am 5'11" so taller than the average mother. I have a problem with the handles on strollers not being tall enough in general but the fact that I had to walk further away and the handles were low made it seem like I was slight bending when pushing the stroller.

Before I bought this stroller I would have never thought about looking at the location of the back wheels. I have a BOB running stroller as my main stroller and those back wheels are great. When I go to buy a replacement I will Definitely be looking that that feature before any other!

We’re so excited to be expanding to Germany and we can’t wait to see how we can help German businesses — whether it’s a brand new startup or a corporation with 30 years’ experience!

The price and design drew me to this cart cover initially, but after several uses, I can say that I am really pleased with my purchase! We have used this for shopping cart and restaurant high chair seat covers. I will say, though, that it could use a bit of padding, and that the leg holes are small, so I do not see this cover lasting through toddlerhood. It does it's job for the time, however!

Expand to Europe’s Most Dynamic eCommerce Market!

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Back in October we introduced wire transfers in Polish banks, which are crucial when running business in Poland. For many of you it had no significance as your business operates only in the UK, France, the Netherlands or Portugal, and you have no plans to try new markets. However, the latest Polish eCommerce report will no doubt make you reconsider your expansion plans — let us present to you some of the most interesting and impressive facts about this market from recent years and the expected figures for the near future.

Polish ecommerce is a relatively new market. Earlier last year eCommerce Europe claimed that in 2012 it would increase by 25–30% from the previous year. At present, Polish e-market is worth 5.6 billion euros, which makes it Europe’s most dynamic market with a 33,5% increase from 2010 to 2011! No surprise then that 50% of Polish e-shops have existed for barely 2 years, and only 11% of them are 5 years or more old.

What do Poles buy online?

clothes & shoes (17%)household goods (15%)sport & hobby (11%)

The survey respondents say they shop on the internet because they like it, it’s cheaper, saves time and it gives easier access to high quality products. Shoppers’ habits mean only good news for shops – 93% of them made money in 2011!

It’s believed that European eCommerce worth will increase from 97 billion euros in 2011 to 172 billion euros in 2016, with the biggest e-shopping boom in Spain, Italy and, yes, Poland!

If this didn’t convince you to expand your e-business to Poland, consider this:

67% of households and 96% business have access to the internet70% of internet users claim they have shopped onlinePeople tend to check out products in traditional shops, but then buy them online69% of shoppers trust online reviews more than shop assistants

As you can see, Poland is an interesting e-market with its golden age still ahead of us. Why not try to offer your products and services in that part of Europe too? Drop us a line at info@paylane.com to find out how you can do it!

The full report in Polish can be downloaded here.

Yes, Even The Most Boring Businesses Can Have Fun Marketing Actions!

Let’s face it, online payments is a boring business. Hell, I’m guessing some of you have already closed the tab now that you’ve learnt this post will be about it. If you’re still here though, do stay, cause we have something unusual to share with you.

Most online payments providers’ marketing campaigns consist of posting stock photos and creating a rather impersonal image. We try to take a different approach. That’s why you can find photos of our entire team on our site or read blog posts written by each one of us. That’s also why when we heard Braintree, our competitor from the US, was expanding its services to Poland, we decided to “welcome” them in this part of the world. Of course it wasn’t good news for us (if I may, it’s like an online payments David and Goliath ;) ), as Braintree is a much bigger company, but we thought: “we might be small and less known, but we sure are good at what we do!”.

As it turned out, the Braintree team were quite a fun bunch that decided to play along… (make sure to watch the video of Braintree receiving our present — the link is at the bottom of the page!)

PayLane “welcomes” Braintree in PolandBraintree retaliates 1 & 2There’s nothing better than pierogi and cheeseburger!Braintree opens the parcel PayLane sent to ChicagoCloser look inside the parcel

Besides marking our presence in the American payments market, our little exchange resulted in some Twitter buzz, many new Facebook fans, and of course, lots of fun.

Should You Adjust Your Product To Specific Markets?

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

After months of preparations, countless hours spent working and analysing, you finally create your product. It has taken a lot of effort to get it done and you want to market it in the best possible way. The question is – should you keep your product the same for all countries or should you adjust it to specific markets?

Take PayLane for example. As you probably know, we offer online payments. Most people associate it with credit cards and they’re right. But (there’s always a but!) if you run an e-shop, you know very well that accepting just credit card payments is not enough, especially if you have multinational customers from around the world. And since, as cliché as it may sound, we really do want to help out our clients boost their business, we do everything to make it happen. That’s why we adjust our services according to the market’s needs.

PayLane’s getting bigger and better, so it’s only natural we’re expanding to new markets. We’ve just launched a new offer directed at German companies. How does it differ from our “standard” service? As any German will tell you, one of the most popular payment methods in that region is Sofortbanking. So, assuming you run an e-shop that has German clients, offering them Sofortbanking payments is a must. And while this method is useless in, let’s say, the USA, it is crucial in Germany. That’s why our offering for the German market is focusing primarily on credit cards and other payment methods typical for that country (e.g. giropay). However, going global isn’t only about focusing on different products, but also about consistent offering – in our case it is launching www.paylane.de, translating merchant panel into German and even providing German-speaking customer service.

Wire transferRemember our recent blog post about Polish wire transfers? Believe it or not, but Poles are more eager to pay via such transfers than with credit cards. If we offered our clients only credit cards, they would be less likely to achieve success in that market. At the same time, hugely popular in the USA American Express payments are virtually unheard of in Central Europe. That’s why our offering for Polish clients includes, besides credit cards, wire transfers in all banks in Poland.

The world of online payments is just an example and the above situations could be applied to many more businesses. Do you work in advertisement? Remember that some Middle East and Asian countries are more conservative, so you might want to drop campaigns with bikini-clad models.  Are you a cosmetics company? Don’t even think about launching a body lotion line without UV filters in Australia. Germans or Poles? A standard lotion is just fine. Same with skin foundation – it might be worth to adjust your offer for multiracial countries with millions of women of different skin colour (e.g. Great Britain, France, Spain) and keep the offering limited to one tone for countries that are either primarily pale– or dark-skinned, like Slovenia or India.

Of course, there are businesses that can stay the same, regardless of their geographical location. Think about computer programs and applications, online bookshops (besides offering books in the given language, of course), IT hardware or smartphones.

Remember though that every business needs to be analysed and thought through. Preparing separate offers can be more expensive marketing-wise, but all in all, it might increase your sales in a given region, so before going global make sure that your product is as useful to a Greek, as it is to an American or an Australian.

Some of the best selling points: the extra large canopy on both the car seat and stroller--perfect for protection from the FL sun; SUPER compact when folded up for storage (pull belt from the center, only one hand needed), and a breeze to unsnap and unfold; fabric is very durable and easy to clean; handlebar is comfortable and easy to push with one hand; one-click brakes for the two rear wheels and one-click brake for the front wheels; car seat snaps into the base and stroller VERY easily.

I was told by Babies 'R' Us that the stroller/car seat combo can only be purchased in this color. Also, I did receive an email notifying me that it was in stock online. However, when I went to my local Babies 'R' Us, a brand-new one was sitting right on the shelf all boxed up--I couldn't get any luckier!

For me, simple was better. And this stroller/car seat combo has EVERYTHING you need without all the frilly details. But truly, it's the EASIEST stroller/car seat out there.

The carseat: My daughter seemed to fit in it awkwardly for the first few weeks until we took out the infant cushion (she was only a little over 6 pounds at birth). The cover didn't block the sun at all when it was fully extended so I switched it out with a carseat canopy set (inwhich the carseat cover and carseat handle cover do not work well with this carseat either but that is a different review). The straps are very close together compared to the other carseats we have had (Evenflo and Britax). I HAVE to use the neck protectors or the straps run every time on her neck. The carseat base is very easy to install, but my complaint is that there is only one tightening strap to do both sides. I have to be able to tighten each side seperately so that all three of the booster/carseats can fit in the car by having the seat a little over from the seat belt- which I can't do and it's a pain to make sure everyone is buckled each time we get in the car. I do love the little storage area in the base to keep the info book and other little things. As others have mentioned- it does not fit in the seat area of a shopping cart and has to be put in the basket of the cart which means you can't get anything done or need to carts for groceries.

On to the stroller: It looks nice and easily unfolds with one hand and a foot. That is about as far as that goes. The carseat DOES NOT CLICK into the stroller so if you have to go down a steep hill or over a bump, the carseat with your precious baby bounces or starts to tip a little since it is not secure!! There is only one cup holder (even my umbrella stroller has more!) and the little spot on the top to hold keys does not hold my cellphone let alone the phone and keys. To make the carseat fit you have to put the back of the stroller seat down, which is a pain in the butt to do, and as soon as you fold the stroller up it moves back...so you have to do this EVERYTIME you want to put the carseat in it. The basket is not very big (as compared to graco or evenflo) and for some reason the end of it is tipped down and out so if you have the basket full then some stuff will fall out! It is hard to access the basket with the carseat in and the backrest down. The material is also starting to wear out and it's not even 4 months old yet. I used it for my older two children for about 2 weeks before the baby was born and the material is already starting to fray from that and the carseat moving around while walking. Also- the stroller does not fit in my Mercury Mountaineer SUV if I have my third row seating up- it doesn't fold down small enough- it's too wide even with the handle put down, so I can't bring extra kids with me anywhere if I am brining the baby and need the stroller for anything.

Overall impression: I do not recommend this combination of stroller and carseat if you need to have a secure place to put the carseat and you want to have room for all of your stuff. It needs more cupholders, a way to secure the carseat in the stroller, better neck straps, two lock system straps, more durable material, a bigger basket and the ability to easily access the basket.

Turns out the people behind those big numbers in m-commerce aren’t brokers, yuppies or geeks in Silicon Valley, but… mums. According to an infographic by BabyBump, nearly 70% of surveyed mums (there was almost 1,400 of them!) shop using their mobile devices, and 93% of them spent more time m-shopping in 2012 than in 2011. We love this dresser! It's super cute, is the perfect size for our nursery and is durable and sturdy. The packaging was great, everything was included and it only took us about an hour to put the dresser together. Unfortunately, this dresser in white was not on display when ordered it. The 6-drawer combo dresser was on display in white, but I never thought to compare it to the crib. I took one look at the crib, saw the bright white and was convinced that this was the dresser we wanted. When we opened it up, we realized it is not bright white, it's a little off. If you're at all particular about your furniture matching and the rest of your furniture is bright white, this is not the dresser for you. With that being said, now that we have the nursery together with all the furniture and decorations, the off-white dresser doesn't stick out so much. All in all, I'm very happy with our purchase!

7 New Year’s Resolutions That Every eCommerce Business Should Make

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Regardless of how prosperous your company is, there is always room for improvement. And when is a better time to change than now? In honour of 2013 we have come up with a few New Year’s resolutions — regarding your customers, employees and yourself — that every ecommerce business can, and in some cases should, follow.

Although many companies claim that’s how long it takes them to reply to their clients’ emails, the reality is quite different. If the email is about a bigger issue, at least let them know when they can expect a full reply – keeping them in the dark is far from good customer service.

Have you had a loyal customer for years? Let them know you are grateful their support by offering them something for extra – free shipping, a freebie or a discount. It won’t make you go bankrupt and the customer will feel appreciated.

If you want to play it safe, you probably won’t achieve great success. Take risks, invest in new ventures or expand to new markets — of course after appropriate analyses and business plan.

Your team isn’t just a bunch of 9–5 workers with clearly defined tasks. It is your staff that makes the company. Listen to their suggestions and respect their opinions. After all, they want the best for your business, as it means also the best for them.

Even if you have a great layout, it’s fun to sometimes change it – whether just the colour of a sidebar or a whole new look. Remember though to make sure it looks equally good on all PCs, Macs, tablets and smartphones.

If you run an e-shop, put yourself in your customers’ shoes and think how you can improve its system to make the shopping experience even easier and more enjoyable. Maybe implementing single-click payments or simplifying your Terms Of Service is a good way to start?

It’s good to sometimes forget about spreadsheets, business meetings and deadlines, and instead just have fun. You never know what might come out of it – our recent “war” with Braintree was spotted by various marketing sites and ended up on Wykop.pl (Polish equivalent of Reddit). Something that in the beginning was just us having fun with toys, ended up as a case study that was read by almost 40,000 people.

Do you have any other New Year’s resolutions for your business? Share them with us in the comments section!

My son sleeps great in it, very comfortable. He has reflux so it was great to keep his head elevated. My only suggestion would be to have an optional toy bar to attach somewhere across it so he would have something to look at when awake and sitting in it. The toy that comes with it is not very interesting to him. He is 2 months old.

Using Payment Methods to Make Customers Return

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

People often think that providing as many payment methods as possible is good, because customers can choose their favorite one. This should mean that the income will be greater; fewer people get discouraged by the lack of the payment method they prefer. Sounds logical, but it’s actually a minimal plan and there’s no guarantee it will work in every case.

If we try to go beyond the “convince to buy” approach, what is there that we might want to achieve? The first thing that comes in mind is “convince to buy again”. Make your customers become your regular customers. And how is it exactly related to payment methods?
Let’s analyze two popular choices: PayPal and credit cards. The common feature is that we can use them to pay, but what are the differences and how can we use them to our advantage?

PayPal is universal, meaning that customers get one payment tool and can use it on every website that implemented it. It’s like… real money — you can pay with it in every store that accepts your currency. Of course we can say more or less the same about every other payment method, but the thing is that PayPal makes it easy. It a system that works everywhere the same way, it’s simple and easy to use. A customers learns one thing and uses it whenever and wherever it suits them.

Credit cards are also very popular and acceptable in most places. But the payment process looks different depending on the e-shop. Some retailers implement it directly, some use other services (like Skrill or PayPal). Some require customers to enter card data every time, some make it easier and require this only once. Some use 3-D Secure, additional redirections, different payment forms etc. — there is little a customer can hold to.

Having this said, it seems that PayPal is easier and more friendly. Well, to put it absolutely straightforward — such simplification makes it simply not true. But what’s most important, this is only when we consider both cases from the customers’ point of view.

Now let’s think like a merchant.

PayPal doesn’t make our store special or convincing, it just makes it easier for PayPal fans to pay. That’s it. We cannot affect the payment process and do not have any good arguments to say “buy here again”.

On the other hand, we can do a lot with credit cards if we put a little effort to it. Instead of choosing the simplest ways to accept credit cards (including PayPal), let’s think how to make it a great experience for our customers.

Consider the following:

require card data only during the first sale, don’t redirect to other pages unless it’s really, really necessary, add relevant solutions to simplify purchases (like automated recurring billing),minimize the buying process — with credit cards, you can easily go down to 2–3 steps (Amazon does it with just one :) ).

Credit cards can be a lot easier to use than many other payment methods. But it’s just an example; if you can think of any other payment method or solution that will allow to attract customers — put it into practice.

Then show them that buying on your website is easy and buying again is even easier. First attract and convince them, then let them get used to it.

This is just another example that each and every element can be turned to your advantage. It just requires a bit more effort, but it’s definitely worth it.

Why Your Business Should NOT Grow

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Forget about meetings. They are toxic. Don’t plan too much. Don’t hire people based on resume. This is only a few examples of unusual advice from 37signals owners– creators of Basecamp (project management tool), Ruby on Rails (online framework for programming), Highrise (contact managing tool) and many others.

They have created a great company and earned a lot of money on software in cloud. The book written by them is called “REWORK” and it helps you see the business world in a slightly different way.

What would you do, if your boss told you “leave work at 5 PM and go spend time with your family” or “you are responsible for marketing” (even if you are an IT guy)? 37signals’ theses are brave and some of them seem to be too difficult to execute in the real world, but when you read them you might think “wow, this is good, they are right, I have never thought about it that way”.

Few examples:

“You don’t create culture” – you cannot create culture in your company and then execute it. At the beginning company has no culture. It will come with time. People will naturally build it and afterwards, you will know who to hire to be most suitable to your enterprise.“Make half-product, not half-ass product” – if you know the lean startup methodology, you should remember that at the beginning of your business you should create MVP (minimum viable product). It doesn’t mean that you can launch buggy software and then fix it. It means that you should create a well-functioning solution with only few features. Each month you will increase the number of available options and you will do it smartly, changing only the things that bug your customers.“Press releases are spam” – they are boring, without emotions. You should employee a good writer and start blogging. Building audience and giving them relevant content will make your brand more recognized and build trust. Don’t waste time on useless messages.

Many people commented this book negatively on Amazon, but I like it. Some pieces of advice are quite original but I guess they work in a specific environment, which was created by 37signals. I like also their honesty. They don’t sell, they tell stories — about their winnings and failures and many situations from business. They are not afraid to say the truth and state their own opinion.

Read “REWORK”. It is not an academic book about business. Instead, they are classes from real life of entrepreneurs, who are focused on good products, effective work and satisfied customer – without beating around the bush. Why not see if you can apply some of them to improve your own company life?

Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow EZ Clean High Chair

Comments about Fisher-Price 1001124 Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow EZ Clean High Chair:

We bought this highchair to replace a hand-me-down Evenflow chair that had broken. Compared to the Evenflow this chair has many less features (no cup holders, etc) and that's one of the BEST things about it - it makes it much, much, much easier to clean. So far I've had finger paint, acrylic paint, beets, and much more smeared on the chair and it has all wiped off. The one hand tray removal is GREAT, and the top tray is easy to remove and wash. My only complaints are that 1) We've had the chair just over a month now and the top tray is stained orange from carrots (not a big deal, just mildly annoying), and 2) the back legs have sharp plastic that would have damaged our hardwood floors (we added some felt pads to the bottom and it has been fine).

Comments about Lambs & Ivy Bedtime Lambs & Ivy Bubbles & Squirt 9 Piece Crib Bedding Set:

I'm 6 months pregnant and I bought this for our baby to be (we're not going to learn the gender until it's born, so we're using this as a NEUTRAL theme for the baby). The colors are fun, bright and cheerful. The quality of the products are great! The comforter has a feature in the back where you can stick a rod through it and hang it on the wall as a decoration down the road, which I think is cool has a keepsake! The bed skirt feels sturdy and not cheap, the package also includes the wall hanging diaper holder as well, which is adorable! There's a blue fitted sheet and a fishy fitted sheet also, which is helpful. Oh! and there's three fabric wall hangings included as well! Overall I'm happy with this purchase! I even bought the matching wall cling art, and framed wall hanging pictures! LOVE THIS THEME!!! <3
